Late Krantiveer Vasantrao Naik
Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik belonged to the Hindu Vanjari Community and was born in Vehelgaon (Nandgaon), Nashik District of Maharashtra State in 1911. He was a son of the soil who had a great vision. He contributed his life to the freedom struggle of India and was known as "Krantiveer".
He lived a revolutionary life and devoted himself to the welfare of society. Inspired by the call given by Krantisingh Nana Patil of Patri Sarkar, he participated in many revolutionary activities for the freedom of India. He organized a Hartal against the Simon Commission in Bombay and participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement, leading to a six-month imprisonment.
In 1931, he was in charge of the Bombay picketing section. Later, he was arrested and sentenced to one year and three months of rigorous imprisonment. After his release, he organized the No-Tax Campaign in Nashik District, gathering 10,000 peasants and leading a mass jungle Satyagraha. He served as the President of the Manmad Congress Committee and successfully managed the Manmad Municipality for two years.

Gopinathrao Pandurang Munde was a respected Indian politician and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), known for his unwavering commitment to public service. Born on December 12, 1949, in Parali, Maharashtra, Munde’s political journey spanned several decades. He played a significant role in Maharashtra’s state politics, serving as the Deputy Chief Minister and holding the Ministry of Home Affairs, where he was instrumental in combating the underworld and organized crime, particularly following the 1993 Mumbai attacks. Munde was a key figure in the introduction of the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), a law that curbed criminal activities in the state. His influence extended to national politics when he was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 15th Lok Sabha and later appointed as the Union Minister for Rural Development in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this role, he worked tirelessly to improve rural infrastructure, empower farmers, and uplift rural communities. Munde's leadership and legacy continue to inspire many, as he is remembered for his strong will, dedication, and contributions to the development of Maharashtra and India as a whole.
